Already without Tom Preissing on their blueline, the Avalanche may have lost John-Michael Liles to an injury last night. Liles appeared to have suffered a shoulder injury in the Avs' game against the Maple Leafs on Tuesday night and is going to be re-evaluated by team doctors to see if he can be in the line-up for Thursday's game in Montreal.
Liles has opened the season with two goals and three assists in six games, tied for sixth among defenders in scoring.
Currently, Benson is holding his breath, awaiting the word of how severe the injury is, because he has Liles in the Draft this year. No one in the Sheet pool has taken the Box 10 defender, opting to go for players like Nicklas Lidstrom and Dion Phaneuf.
