The Sharks were without defenseman Doug Murray for their game against the Capitals on Thursday night, as the defender was out with a bout of the flu. Certainly not the way you want to start a 6-game road trip through the Eastern Seaboard. It's unclear as to whether or not Murray will be alright to go for Saturday match-up against the Islanders or not, but don't be surprised if he sits one more out.
Murray was not taken in the Draft this year, but he has been picked five times in Box 13 of the Sheet. Murray has only one point in six games with the Sharks this season, so he hasn't quite panned out to be the offensive force that his preseason numbers may have suggested.
