Maple Leafs Update

The Maple Leafs have been rather busy over the last couple days, thanks to injuries and healthy scratches. On Friday, the team sent Box 25 forward, Tyler Bozak, back down to the Marlies of the AHL, after playing one game with the big club. Bozak did register an assist in his first game with the club, but that wasn't enough to keep him up for an extended period of time.

The Leafs will have Jonas Gustavsson back on the ice today, after spending time off with a groin problem. It doesn't sound like he'll go this weekend, but he should be ready for next week.

Both Matt Stajan and Niklas Hagman should be back in the line-up for Saturday's tilt, coming back from being healthy scratches. It sounds like Nikolai Kulemin and Jamal Mayers will be heading up to the press box in place of the two coming down.

Phil Kessel has started skating in a non-contact jersey at Leafs practice, giving him plenty of time to get back into game shape before his prescribed return of early November. It does sound like he'll be making his debut before then, but no one should really be counting on it.

There's quite a few implications, so I'll just let you sort it out, if you need to.
