The Predators have locked up another young defenseman to a entry-level deal, by signing their 2009 1st round pick,
Ryan Ellis, to his customary deal. Ellis is highly-regarded as one of the more offensively capable defenders in the junior ranks, where he was sent back to after training camp this Fall. Ellis led all OHL defensemen in scoring in 2009, but his overall size is his biggest downside. Ellis is only listed at 5'1" on NHL.com, which is by far the smallest player on my database of players. His talent is through the roof, but the question will be, how will he survive in the big man's league?
