The Flyers lost their prized rookie, James Van Riemsdyk, to a head injury this week. Van Riemsdyk suffered the injury in the game against Washington on Tuesday, which caused him not to dress for the game against Pittsburgh on Thursday night. He is currently listed as out day-to-day with a head injury and I haven't seen anything otherwise to say that he will be out for very long.
Van Riemsdyk was not taken in the Draft this year, but was likely going to be a candidate for acquisition at the first waiver draft. On the Sheet, he was part of the Eastern Conference young players box and I know he was taken at least a couple of times. Since the injury doesn't seem to be very severe, it shouldn't be a big deal going forward.
