The Colorado Avalanche were very busy on the second day of free agency, re-signing a number of players, signing some new faces, but when it was all said and done, only two names were added to the roster below as regular everyday players. The Avalanche re-signed defenseman Kyle Quincey to a new 2-year deal that will pay him just over $6 million in total. The Avalanche also signed their latest acquisition via trade, Daniel Winnik, picked up his rights from the Coyotes, to a 2-year deal as well, his worth just under $2 million. With Quincey, they have the 52nd ranked defenseman in the league, scoring 6 goals and 23 assists in 79 games with the Avalanche last season, while Winnik, more of a checking/energy forward, does not rank very well with 19 points in 74 games.
| Forwards | Defense | Goalies |

The Avalanche have a fairly full line-up already on their side, having 18 players now signed on for a paltry $37 million, still shy of the salary cap floor. There have been rumours that the Avalanche may go after the very expensive Ilya Kovalchuk and with this low cap number, you can see where the rumours are stemming from. The Avalanche are really in a position to just fill some gaps in their forward ranks with whatever budget they have left.
