The Detroit Red Wings have re-signed forward Drew Miller to a new 1-year deal for $650,000 on Tuesday. Miller played in 80 games between the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Red Wings in 2010, picking up 10 goals and 9 assists in those games. Miller was claimed off waivers in November and found an everyday job with the veteran Red Wings, scoring all of his points in 66 games with the club. Miller finished in 269th among all forwards, but has an outside shot at becoming a sleeper with whatever minutes he can get in Detroit.
His contract is very cap-friendly to the Red Wings, giving them a little more flexibility down the stretch.
