Chicago Signs More Cheap Depth

The Blackhawks are going to be in need of some depth in 2011 and the signings of both Brian Bickell and Evan Brophey might be exactly what they are looking for. Bickell signed a 3-year deal with a cap hit of $541,666 per season, while Brophey signed a 1-year deal worth $500,000. Neither of them qualify as roster players until they earn their spots on the roster in September, but as 3rd and 4th line players, they might finally be called to the big show.

Don't forget to watch out for Jeff Taffe, Jack Skille, Jake Dowell and on defense, Ivan Vishnevsky. Don't be too eager to jump on these guys, but keep an eye out on their progress.
