The Blues announced on Thursday that they have re-signed forward Alex Steen to a new 4-year deal, as he hit restricted free agency as of Noon ET today. There was no immediate word as to what th extension was worth, but I'm sure it will all come down before the next team update for the Blues.
Steen had a productive 2010 season with the Blues, scoring 24 goals and adding 23 assists for 47 points in 68 games. That ranked him 106th among forwards in the league, which isn't too bad and should make for a good addition to your draft team.
I wouldn't put too much stock in Steen just yet, but 55 points certainly isn't out of the question for him, depending on who else the Blues drop some dough on in the next few weeks. It looks like a good deal for the Blues, who are also known for not paying too much for young players, so I'm sure this works out for them cap wise.
