Maybe you could chalk this up to a veteran player showing a bit of his age, but Brendan Shanahan (Marcus) will likely now miss the next couple weeks with what is described as a whole leg injury.
The veteran winger has described everything in his leg is hurting to the New York Daily News and that doesn't bode well to the Rangers or any pool team that has him active in their line-up. Shanny has had himself a pretty good year, thus far, scoring 32 points (17G, 15A) in 51 games, but his pains and aches are slowly catching up to him. If two weeks is what Shanahan needs to get himself back to 100%, the Rangers are more likely to let him rest and have a young prospect showcase themselves, rather than have the veteran winger perform at below 75%.
