This deal between the Bruins and Blackhawks doesn't go much deeper than the surface. It looks as though both teams couldn't come to terms with either St. Pierre or Pelletier, as they are both restricted free agents, so a change of scenary was the best solution to their respective negotiations.

Both players share all sorts of similarities, including their size (both being under 6' tall), their position (both are centres), their NHL experience (not much) and their pool value (none).
