Avalanche Re-Sign Wolski

The Colorado Avalanche sewd up one of their top restricted free agents by signing Wojtek Wolski to another 2-year deal. It is understood that the deal is worth $2.8 million against the cap each year, which is roughly is market value, according to last season's numbers.

Wolski played in 77 games last season for the Avs, scoring 18 goals and 30 assists, ranking him in the top 150 in pool scoring. Wolski has the potential to be a 30-goal scorer, but hasn't found his consistency quite yet in his career. Going into his third full season with the team, it is a good time for him to break out and he could be a good candidate to move up your fantasy lists.

The Avalanche still have a few signings to make still this off-season, but they will have a healthy salary cap number when they do so. Currently, the team sits at 16 players at a cap hit of $40.4 million, which leaves them plenty of room for the likes of Joe Sakic and Peter Forsberg, if one or both decide to come back.
