The New York Rangers made another vague signing on Wednesday, sewing up another one of their key restricted free agents in Nigel Dawes. I say vague since the details of the deal were not disclosed to the media.
Dawes, 23, had a breakthrough year with the Rangers, playing in 61 games, scoring 14 goals and 15 assists for the Blueshirts. His potential ranks quite high, but his linemates last season included Brendan Shanahan and Jaromir Jagr, both of whom haven't re-signed with the Rangers. Despite the losses, Dawes should still be considered a good pool pick this season. New linemate potential should give some new hope for the season.
