Straka Signs Off to the Czech Republic

Well, it looks to be official now. Former Rangers forward, Martin Straka, has signed with his former club in the Czech Republic and won't be featured in the NHL next season. It was rumoured back in June that Straka had already signed in Europe, but his agent had shot down those rumours, but they now appear to be true.

Straka becomes the second highest pool scoring player to head over the Atlantic to play hockey next season. He follow fellow former Ranger, Jaromir Jagr, who signed a deal in Russia last week. Other notable players to jump ship from the NHL include, Josef Vasicek, Niko Kapanen, Ray Emery, Wade Dubielewicz, Branko Radivojevic, Hannu Toivonen, John Grahame, Petteri Nummelin, Patrick Thoreson and Marcel Hossa.
