The signing period has now seeming grinded to a halt and teams are now waiting to see what happens with Mats Sundin before anything futher goes on. There are quite a few teams who are desperately in need of salary to fill their gaps and comply with the salary cap rules, being above the floor of $40.7 million and these players listed below are the best way to going about doing that.
Los Angeles leads the parade of no salary with only 14 regular skaters signed to $27.3 million against the cap. They do have plenty of prospects signed, but that would be an admission of failure to attract some bigger names to the West Coast. They also have a few key restricted free agents to sign in Jarret Stoll, Patrick O'Sullivan and Brad Richardson.
So, again, here are the top 10 unrestricted free agents, according to pool points from last season.
