He isn't officially an Avalanche player, but if Peter Forsberg is to come back for yet another NHL season, it will likely be with the Avs. Unfortunately, we won't know if he will come back or not until Christmas time, as he has run into some complications with his ailing foot.
So, much like last season, the picking of Peter Forsberg at your hockey pool's draft does seem to be a little silly and should be considered more at one of your mid-season points where you can swap players. Of course, if you have Forsberg in a keeper-pool, you're going to have to rely on one of your bench players to keep up the scoring pace.
With all of his injury problems last season, Forsberg managed to play in 9 games for Colorado, scoring a goal and adding 13 assists. He does still have plenty of playmaking ability left in him and he will likely hope to play half the season, which isn't even a guarantee enough to risk a late round pick on him.
