An injury-riddled season didn't help defenseman Kurtis Foster at all when it came to negotiating a new deal. After only signing a 1-year deal last summer, he could only manage another 1-year deal worth $1.025 million.Between four separate injuries, Foster only played in 56 games last season, scoring 7 goals and 12 assists, which keeps him down on the fantasy value list. Thanks to the acquistions of Marc-Andre Bergeron and Marek Zidlicky already this summer, Foster has moved down the depth chart as well.
| Forwards | Defense | Goaltenders |
| Marian Gaborik | Brent Burns | Niklas Backstrom |
| Andrew Brunette | Marek Zidlicky | Josh Harding |
| Mikko Koivu | Kim Johnsson | |
| Eric Belanger | Marc-Andre Bergeron | |
| Mark Parrish | Kurtis Foster | |
| James Sheppard | Nick Schultz | |
| Derek Boogaard | Martin Skoula |
The signing of Foster now brings the Wild totals up to 16 players for $40.7 million, the floor level of the salary cap.
