Laraque to Play at Home

The Montreal Canadiens obviously felt that they needed to get tougher to compete with the likes of the Flyers in the playoffs for next season, so they signed a 3-year deal with tough guy, Georges Laraque, that will pay him $1.5 million each year.

A Montreal native, Laraque, 31, will bring a bodyguard attitude to the Habs line-up in order to protect the interests of the team's youth, namely Carey Price. Laraque also can bring some scoring to the line-up as well, as he was good for 4 goals and 9 assists in 71 games with the Penguins last season. He isn't a big enough scorer for your pool team, but he sure does like those penalty minutes.
