The Montreal Canadiens obviously felt that they needed to get tougher to compete with the likes of the Flyers in the playoffs for next season, so they signed a 3-year deal with tough guy, Georges Laraque, that will pay him $1.5 million each year.A Montreal native, Laraque, 31, will bring a bodyguard attitude to the Habs line-up in order to protect the interests of the team's youth, namely Carey Price. Laraque also can bring some scoring to the line-up as well, as he was good for 4 goals and 9 assists in 71 games with the Penguins last season. He isn't a big enough scorer for your pool team, but he sure does like those penalty minutes.
