The Avalanche welcomed back Chris Stewart to their line-up on Friday, he's been out of action since the end of November with a broken hand. His return may not have garnered many points on Friday night, but it may have helped spark the team to their 4-1 win.
Stewart had almost 16 minutes worth of ice-time, no shots, no penalty minutes or anything of that variety in his return.
I thought I would highlight Stewart's return to the line-up, because of his impact on Dale C.'s team while he was away. When Stewart left the Avalanche line-up at the end of November, Dale was in 13th place in the standings and Stewart was his best player on his roster with 25 points. Upon his return, Stewart is Dale's 6th best player and Dale currently ranks 19th in the standings. Of course, Dale also lost the services of Derek Roy in the same time period, so it cannot all be attributed to Stewart's absence, but it was likely a significant chunk of experience.
