A minor leg injury was enough to force Box 13 defenseman Robyn Regehr out of the Flames line-up, as they took on the Senators on Friday night. The injury is suggested to be rather minor, thinking that he may have been able to play last night, but likely since they are playing back-to-back nights, finishing off tonight in Toronto, that there was likely was some precautionary measures taken.
Scary moment in Minnesota on Friday night, as Box 7 forward Ryan O'Reilly piled into the boards head/shoulder first, after losing his edge battling with the Wild's Matt Cullen for a loose puck. O'Reilly had to be stretchered off the ice and was taken to a local hospital, but the early news was positive, that he was conscious and could move all of his extremities. I don't think he'll be back in the line-up any time too soon, he'll likely have more tests done, likely checking for a concussion, among other things.
The Minnesota Wild have again scratched Box 11 defenseman Cam Barker, last night against the Avalanche, in a 3-1 loss. Barker was acquired from the Chicago Blackhawks in a deal last February, which saw the Wild blueline theoretically get a little younger with some more potential. Well, this has not been the case, as Barker has now been a healthy scratch a few times this season and I would guess is trade bait.
Another defenseman who looks to be on the outs with his respective team is Chris Campoli, a Box 30 defenseman for the Senators. He has now been a healthy scratch for the last couple of games and he couldn't be too happy about that. Campoli came to Ottawa in a deal with Mike Comrie in February 2009, to which I thought Campoli was the real key to the deal. A couple of seasons on, it looks like Campoli could be a candidate to move for some extra help down the stretch.
