Sheet Player News (Jan 20)

The Carolina Hurricanes have decided to send down Box 24 forward Zach Boychuk to Charlotte of the AHL on Wednesday afternoon, ending a fairly decent stretch of games with the big club.  In 2011, Boychuk has now played in 16 games for the Canes, scoring 3 goals and 2 assists, which are not top six kind of numbers, likely the reason as to why he has been sent down again this season.  The Hurricanes are trying to work their way into the playoff picture again and they'll need all the scoring they can get down the stretch.

A little bit of defenseman musical chairs seem to be going on in Columbus, as Jan Hejda was Wednesday night's selection to sit one out as a healthy scratch, putting Anton Stralman back in, after he was a healthy scratch earlier on in the week.  The Blue Jackets have fallen out of major playoff pushers group, dropping down to 13th in the West, so they'll need a pretty solid stretch of effort to get back into the playoff conversation.  Hejda has been a terrible minus player for the Jackets this season and it as likely just his turn to sit.
