Chris Butler, Box 30 defenseman of the Buffalo Sabres, heads up the list of the usual suspects on this morning's Sheet News, as he was a healthy scratch again on Tuesday night. Butler found his way back up to the press box for the game against the Flyers and it doesn't look like the move paid off, as the Sabres gave up five in a 5-2 loss. I would just assume that Butler may find his way back into the line-up for their next game, only to become a scratch again.
The Islanders welcomed non-pool defenseman Radek Martinek back to their starting line-up on Tuesday night for their game against the Canucks, which put Bruno Gervais, their Box 29 defenseman, back in the press box as a healthy scratch. Gervais was quite the regular to the press box early on in the season, but with all the injuries on Long Island mounting, he found his way into the regular line-up for a few straight weeks.
Hard to say if this was a healthy scratch or not, but Tom Poti was again not in the line-up for the Capitals on Tuesday night for the game against the Panthers. The Box 27 defenseman has been dealing with a nagging lower-body injury for the better part of the regular season, taking games off after playing a few games consecutively, which may exactly be the case again last night. I will call it a healthy scratch, likely considering it just a "maintenance day."
