Sheet Player News (Jan 7)

It looks as though Oilers defenseman Jim Vandermeer has re-aggravated his previous ankle injury, to which he just returned from this week after missing a couple weeks worth of action.  Vandermeer did not return to the game after the second period and it was announced that he would not return to the game at about then.  I would have to imagine that the Box 13 defenseman will likely miss another week at the very least, possibly another two weeks on the shelf now.

Coyotes forward Kyle Turris did not dress for the game against the Avalanche on Thursday night after suffering a minor upper-body injury on Tuesday night against Columbus.  Turris was practicing with the club on Thursday morning, but I would imagine he was held out of the line-up for precautionary reasons, not wanting to aggravate his injury any further.  The decision didn't look too bad, as the Coyotes defeated the Avalanche, 2-0.
