The NHL has come down pretty hard on non-pool enforcer Ben Eager, as he received a 4-game suspension for his undefended punch to Colby Armstrong in last night's tilt between the Thrashers and Maple Leafs. Armstrong had to leave the game after the play, because the swelling around his eye was too great and he couldn't see out of it.
Eager has already missed time with a lower-body injury this season and now stands to miss some more time for disciplinarian reasons. This is the 3rd time in his NHL career that he has been suspended by the league and this likely boosted the number of games he had received for the punch.
In 34 games this season, Eager has 3 goals and 7 assists to go with 77 minutes in penalties.
