Colaiacovo Hurt Upon His Return

On his return from another undisclosed injury, St. Louis Blues defenseman Carlo Colaiacovo was hit in the face, around one of his eyes, and had to leave the game with the injury suffered there.  The Blues defenseman is expected to miss a couple weeks with the injury, although the actual nature of the injury is still somewhat unknown.  Some real bad luck for Colaiacovo, who hasn't really gained much traction in the year.

In 36 games for the Blues, Colaiacovo has 4 goals and 12 assists, which is nearly half a point-per-game this season, right in the general scoring pace that you would like to see most of your depth defensemen hit.  Colaiacovo ranked 319th going into tonight's action among all players in the league, 58th among defensemen, well situated in the the top 80.

ImplicationsAs Benson G.'s last pick, he has been really good, especially among all of the defensemen that were picked in the draft.  Benson was holding onto the final money spot going into Wednesday night's action and at the time of this post, held a 9-point advantage on Wayne H., who is looking for another solid money finish this year.
