The Colorado Avalanche hosted the lowly Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday night and they didn't need the services of Paul Stastny, who was sitting out of the line-up with flu-like symptoms, in their 4-3 overtime win. Possibly, if Stastny was in the line-up, the win would have been a little more comfortable, but they picked up the two points they were looking for in the standings and they can move on from there.
Stastny will be listed as day-to-day with the flu and I would think he would be probable for Thursday's game, when the Avalanche play host to the Coyotes.
This injury news is likely only a small speed bump for Benson G., who has Stastny in the pool, as he is safely in 4th place in the standings after Tuesday night's action. I would imagine he would have preferred to have seen Stastny in the line-up against the Sabres, since he is only 5 points out of 2nd place and likely doesn't want that gap to get any bigger.
