The Winter Classic has been pushed back to a later start on Saturday, since the rain is supposed to be coming down in Pittsburgh during the early parts of the day, but there should be plenty of time to get the ice ready for a game under the lights at Heinz Field, starting at 8pm ET.
Once the game gets going, we are expecting the return of Jordan Staal to the Penguins' line-up, as he has sat out of the entire season to date with a hand/wrist problem, which has seen numerous infection problems, causing more and more delays, up until now.
Pittsburgh has already played 39 games this season without their number three centre, but there is still the second half of the season to go, trying to stay ahead of Philadelphia in Atlantic Division and Eastern Conference standings.
Staal has been one of the odd stories of the first half of the 2011 season, as he was expected to only miss the first few weeks of the year with his injury. Unfortunately, those setbacks caused him to be dropped by his first pool owner, Derek W., who needed points right away, but was picked up only eight selections later by Leon G., hoping to capitalize on his return.
At the time of the draft, Leon was in 11th place in the standings, 19 points out of the money spots, but now in Week Thirteen, Leon is in 12th place, 37 points out of the money and will need a miracle out of Staal to get himself back in the conversation.
