A tweet from Darren Dreger at TSN suggests that Jordan Eberle will miss the next 10 days with a sprained ankle, which is actually pretty good news for the Oilers, since there was a very serious fear that he could be out for much longer than that. Eberle was hurt in the Oilers' last game against the Flames and will start missing time on Tuesday night when the Oilers take on the Red Wings.
The 10-day period would either have Eberle back on the 13th in San Jose or the 15th in Los Angeles, give or take a day.
Eberle's offense will definitely be missed over the next week and a bit, as the rookie has 9 goals and 14 assists in 37 games, so far. His 23 points was good enough to have him ranked 141st in pool scoring at the beginning the week and he's very much in the rookie scoring race, trailing Jeff Skinner by only 5 points, as of Tuesday night.
This could be a pretty big speed bump for Wayne H. in the draft, as he sits on the outside looking in on the money, going into Tuesday night's action. Wayne is 5th place, as the puck drops, now 12 points out of 4th place and the loss of a scoring forward is definitely going to hurt. Some of his players will definitely need to step up in the next 10 days to help buffer the loss.
