The Calgary Flames finally decided to scratch someone who wasn't Mikael Backlund on Wednesday night against the Canucks, as Niklas Hagman was the victim of the healthy scratch, spending the night in the press box watching his team lose 3-1.
Hagman only has 17 points in 40 games in 2011, which is much-lower than his overall production in the 2010 season and was a good reason to give him a night off, trying to spark some more offense from the team. Sadly, that didn't quite happen for the Flames, but it may spark a little more production from Hagman, knowing that his ice-time isn't exactly safe.
This could be the only hope for Ryan M., who has Hagman in the pool this year. Ryan is in need of some offense in Week Fourteen, as he currently leads the race for the Basement Dweller nod with only 3 points. He currently sits in 8th spot in the standings and is 36 points back of 4th place.
