An undisclosed injury was enough to keep one of the Bruins' best players off the ice on Tuesday night, as Milan Lucic took his first night off in the season, due to injury. There really wasn't a lot to go on with Lucic's injury on Tuesday night, just the fact that he was going to miss the game. No word on the Bruins' next game, which is Thursday, home to Philadelphia. For now, we'll have to qualify him as out day-to-day, until further disclosed.
Lucic got off to a torrid pace to start the season, leading the Bruins' skaters in scoring for quite a while, but has since fallen off to a more reasonable pace. In 41 games this season, Lucic has 16 goals and 12 assists, ranking him 104th in pool scoring after Tuesday night's action. Lucic brings a lot to the table for the Bruins, so his absence will be missed eventually, although it really wasn't missed in a 6-0 drubbing of the Senators on Tuesday night.
In the draft, Lucic belongs to Ryan M., who has been continuing his steady decline down the standings, going from 10th place at the end of Week Fourteen to 12th, only a couple days into Week Fifteen, not getting points in a very tight spot in the standings. The loss of Lucic will hurt, if the injury turns out to be long-term, as he has been one of the more steady scorers for him this year.
