The news for the Wild's Marek Zidlicky has indeed gotten worse over the last week, as his timetable for a return to the line-up has increased from two weeks to up to six weeks, as he will try to rehab his shoulder injury, opting not to undergo surgery right away.
If Zidlicky can't get back to 100% with rehab in the next weeks, I would imagine that he will have to undergo season-ending surgery, but that's just my own speculation.
Of course, this is pretty bad news for Derek W., as this becomes a pretty big speed bump for trying to get out of 20th place in the standings in the draft. With Zidlicky's help, Derek's defense has been very respectable this season, but losing out on his second-best blueliner this season will likely put a damper on those numbers. In just over a week, Derek's defense has dropped from 2nd in the pool to 4th and has a number of teams on his coattails, only a few points away.
