Pre-Game Notes on Thursday (Jan 6)

Jamie Langenbrunner is going to be a healthy scratch for the Devils on Thursday night, as the team will play against the Philadelphia Flyers. Langenbrunner has apparently been asked to waive his no-trade clause and it sounds as though he will be on the move in the next little while.

The Coyotes will give Jason LaBarbera the start in net for the game against the Avalanche, with Matt Climie backing him up, as Ilya Bryzgalov has gone home to Phoenix to attend to a family issue.  There has been no more indication as to what kind of time Bryzgalov will be missing, but the Coyotes will be returning home after tonight's contest, so it won't be a road trip that is missed.

The Penguins will not have Sidney Crosby in the line-up for their game against the Canadiens, as the NHL's leading scorer has apparently suffered a minor upper-body injury.  I haven't seen any other word than Crosby has gone back to Pittsburgh to get the injury looked at, so we can only assume he's day-to-day for now or until the Penguins give us some more details.
