The Thrashers went out of their way to pick up an added winger Clarke MacArthur to their mix, taking away the 'absolute seller' tag from their team. MacArthur has long toiled in the Sabres system, but always fell back in the depth charts when the Sabres picked up new talent. With the Thrashers and their rebuilding scheme, MacArthur will get a good chance to showcase his talent as a goal scoring forward and likely get some good ice-time with the team.

On the Sabres side, they likely had to clear up a little bit of cap space with Raffi Torres coming to town, so MacArthur was given the new opportunity to play elsewhere and the Sabres picked up a couple of mid-round picks in return.
