In only his second game with the Edmonton Oilers, Ryan Jones had to leave the game with a knee injury against the Minnesota Wild on Friday night. Jones had a knee-on-knee collision with the Wild's Derek Boogaard, ended up finishing the first period of play before calling it a night. Jones will get re-examined this weekend and a better injury report will surface, likely for the Newsletter this week.
The Nashville Predators are holding their breath, waiting for the injury news on their number one defenseman, Shea Weber, as he left last night's game against the Red Wings with an upper-body injury. The injury is thought to be a wrist injury, which he actually suffered the night before against the Kings, but he felt he could play through it. Against the Red Wings, he had fallen on his injured portion and was also run over of sorts, causing Weber to end up leaving the game in the end. More news should come this weekend.
