A hefty suspension was doled out to James Wisniewski of the Anaheim Ducks for his charge on Chicago Blackhawks defender, Brent Seabrook, on Wednesday night. Wisniewski was handed an 8-game suspension for his part in the video posted below and its all for good reason, I would believe. Seabrook had to leave the game with an upper-body injury and I would apply a quick calculation, which includes a couple other suspensions, the injury and the type of hit it was to think that 8 games is about right.
If anything there may be a message being sent here, to say the least.
In the Draft, Wisniewski will be missed for the better part of the remainder by Ryan, who sits in 10th spot in the middle of Thursday's action. He's currently fighting off Chrs in the standings and would have liked to have one of his better defensemen in the line-up, but what can a guy do in this situation?
