Really bad news for the Anaheim Ducks, as they have lost Ryan Getzlaf again to his ankle injury. Getzlaf re-injured his ankle on Wednesday night against the Canucks and didn't return. He was not healthy enough to go on Friday night against the Oilers, but we haven't heard definitive word as to how long he'll be out of the line-up for the Ducks.
Also on Friday night, Jason Blake was made into a healthy scratch, as the team exercised some of their younger legs. It really doesn't seem to be any more serious than that. I would imagine Blake sees only half of the remaining games in the regular season, since the Ducks are all but out of the playoff race.
If Leon didn't have a comfortable 32-point lead going into Saturday's action, I would say that the loss of Getzlaf to his team would be huge. It isn't. Not unless Larry, Wayne and Dale B. get an incredible amount of points in the next week, it'll be a pretty straight-forward finish for Leon.
Blake belongs to a team that is in a similar position, but on the polar opposite of the standings. John P. has Blake and sits in last place, still battling not to be in last place, but that's a small measure of pride to be had.
With the Ducks being out of the playoff race, neither player has much value there.
