Jonathan Quick was able to be at home with his wife, as they are expecting their first child. His absence allowed Jonathan Bernier to get his first start of this NHL season, which turned out to be a 2-1 shootout victory over the Dallas Stars. There was no immediate word as to whether or not everything went well with Quick and his brand new family, but if he does have to miss another game, at least you know why.
In the Draft, Wes missed out on a goalie start for his 3rd place team in the pool and that certainly didn't help him at all. Wes could have used those two points durng last night's action, because his 3rd place team became a 4th place overnight, but he would have lost the tie-break to Wayne anyways, so he'd likely still start Saturday's action in 4th no matter what.
