The Oilers are just a couple games away from clinching last place in the NHL this season, so there is no need to push players, especially push them to play hurt. Sam Gagner was rested on Friday night, because his ailing hip was sore again, so missing the game against the Ducks was a better option than to hurt it even further. This will likely be a day-to-day thing, especially since no NHL player really wants to be on the shelf for any length of time, but with Gagner, there won't be much of a rush, but you know he wants to finish the season on the ice, at the very least.
Not much going on down here. Peter has Gagner in the Draft and his team hasn't cracked the 600-point barrier in the standings, mired in 13th with space above and below, so there is little to happen here for him.
Gagner wasn't a major player in the regular season Sheet pool and the Oilers are nowhere near the Playoff Sheet pool.
