The Ducks were without a familiar face on Tuesday night, as Teemu Selanne came down with flu-like symptoms and had to miss the game versus the Blue Jackets. The Box 4 forward has had a rough go of it this season, missing out on over 20 games this season with a couple different injuries. The Ducks don't play again until Friday (at home to Nashville), so I would have to think that he'll return for that game.
Also sitting out with a touch of an illness was Avalanche forward, Darcy Tucker, who missed the game against the Canucks. Tucker is considered to be out on a day-to-day basis at the moment. The Avalanche play again on Thursday night (at home to Florida), which should be more than enough time to recover from the bug. After the disappointing loss to the Canucks on Tuesday, I'm sure the coaching staff would like him to be in, just as a change to the line-up.
An upper-torso injury will now keep Box 12 defenseman, Ruslan Salei, out of the Avalanche line-up for at least a week, possibly more. Salei, who has been dealing with back issues all season long, was hurt over the weekend and has had his new injury checked out. The team feared it was something more serious, but it looks like it's quite minimal.
After being slammed face first into the boards over the weekend against Boston, Blake Comeau was kept out of the line-up for the Islanders against Philadelphia on Tuesday. The Box 23 forward suffered some facial lacerations from the hit, but there has been no word of a concussion, so that's good news. If Comeau is held out of the line-up for over a week, we might just assume there was one though. Since the Islanders are not in the playoff hunt, they won't be in a big rush to get him back in anyways.
