Sheet Scratches From Tuesday Night

The Blackhawks must have been pleased to get Brent Seabrook back in their line-up on Tuesday night. With re-inserting him into the line-up, whowever, someone had to come out, which left Box 14 defenseman, Brent Sopel on the hook for the press box, which isn't anything new for the veteran defenseman.Sopel has been a healthy scratch on numerous occasions this season and may find some more time in the press box once Kim Johnsson gets healthy again.

An upper-body injury has sidelined Joel Ward of the Nashville Predators, which made him miss Tuesday night's contest against the Dallas Stars. It sounds like another one of those vague injuries, but I have read this morning that he will likely miss a couple more games at least, which translates closer to a week, which may suggest a minor concussion... but that's just me speculating. I didn't actually read that anywhere.

The Canucks are again battling without the ervices of Pavol Demitra, as he's left the team again for personal reasons. There isn't any word as to whether or not this relates to the family illnesses that have kept him out of the line-up already this season, but I imagine it isn't far off. He's just considered day-to-day for now.
