The Florida Panthers will again be without one of the scoring stars, David Booth, after he took a pretty good North-South shoulder check from the Canadiens' Jaroslav Spacek, which has knocked out the forward out of the game with a head injury. Booth was taken to hospital after the hit and reports say that he was awake and coherent at the hospital, but after more tests, it has been determined that he's suffered his second concussion of the season after the hit.
I would imagine that would finish him for the rest of the regular season and that will likely curb the Panthers' push for the playoffs, where they stand 7 points out with only 8 games left in their schedule.
Booth has only managed to make it into 28 games this season for the Panthers, scoring 8 goals and 8 assists for the club. He has been an unfortunate fantasy player this year, ranking 426th in pool scoring this season, which is a long ways down from his 77th spot after the 2009 season. Hopefully a full recovery is in order, so he can get back to realizing his potential.
There isn't much for implications from this injury at this point in the season. Booth was already dropped from the Draft, no one took him in his box on the regular season Sheet pool and the Panthers won't likely make the playoffs, so it's pretty much a wash.
