It was a return to the press box for Avalanche defenseman, Brett Clark, on Wednesday night. The Box 13 defender found his way back up as a healthy scratch against the Calgary Flames, as the Avalanche try desperately to find a way around to a consistent playoff-ready line-up. Clark joined fellow Sheet defenseman, Ruslan Salei, who has sat out the last couple games now, likely still healing from his injuries that he's spent time away from the game with.
The Flyers have recalled young goaltender, Jeremy Duchense from their farm team in the AHL, because they will now be without Michael Leighton, a Box 32 goaltender, who has suffered a high ankle sprain. A high ankle sprain is a terrible injury for a goalie to encounter and it may keep Leighton out of the line-up for the remainder of the regular season. Leighton was scheduled to have an MRI this week, but I haven't seen the news regarding the injury, but if the scan is involved, it likely isn't a good injury.
