On Thursday night against the Wild, the Flyers were without defenseman Matt Carle to a bruised foot and he is also questionable to go Saturday afternoon against the Penguins. It's considered to be a deep bone bruise, which must be uncomfortable in his skate, so it doesn't seem like a terrible surprise that he would be out of the line-up today. Carle is still considered day-to-day, but unlikely for the weekend.
Well, this really hurts Wayne, as he's really trying to hold onto 3rd place in the Draft and he's having a poor week doing that. Going into Saturday's afternoon action, Wayne has only 16 points, the weakest weekly total among the money leaders this week, but not by much. Wayne does have a lot of guys going this weekend, despite not having Carle in the line-up, so he could be okay when its all said and done.
Carle has been taken once in the Selection Sheet pool, but I'm not going to dig out who took him, but he was taken, just a side note.
The Flyers are currently in the playoff picture in the Eastern Conference and Carle will represent the Flyers in the Playoff Pool, he'll be in Box 22. He could be helpful, once his bone bruse subsides. Good thing he's still got two weeks to get better.
