With teams getting healthy again because of the Olympic Break, it really does seem like a matter of time before the injury list gets back into the swing of things, due to the condensed schedule. Well, here's a new one to add to the list as newly-acquired defenseman, Denis Grebeshkov, has now suffered a lower-body injury, which will keep him out of the line-up for upwards of two weeks. He was injured in the game against Vancouver on Sunday afternoon and very little more has been said about the injury.
Grebeshkov has only played in four games for the Predators this season, scoring a goal and an assist since his trade from Edmonton. In 51 games between Edmonton and Nashville, he has 7 goals and 14 assists, ranking him 326th among all players in pool scoring this season. That's a ways down from his finishing position in 2009, 227th.
In terms of the Draft, Dale C., who has been falling out of contention for the last few weeks of action, won't like this this injury, as it just compounds to the problems he's been having this season. It is only a defenseman going down, but everything helps these days and with Grebeshkov's increased scoring rate in Nashville (no matter how small of an increase), he really didn't want to miss out on those minutes.
