Undetermined Mid-Round Draft Pick

The Maple Leafs managed to flip Martin Skoula, who they acquired last night from the Penguins in the Alex Ponikarovsky deal, to the Devils for a mid-round draft pick, not sure which year or which round.

Salary CapThe Leafs are flipping cap space, which we addressed in the deal last night, so dumping Skoula gives the Leafs a little more flexibility in taking on more salary in order to get some picks.

The Devils looks to be alright under the cap, so adding a new defenseman to the system isn't a problem here.

Adding more defensemen in front of Martin Brodeur can't possibly be a bad idea. Skoula has lost a lot of value over the past few seasons, so where he actually fits in with the Devils is still a bit of a question mark.
