7th Round Pick

The Capitals are going to take a chance on veteran forward, Scott Walker, to help them through the playoff run this year, by dealing a 7th round pick the other way. The Caps will get all sorts of veteran experience from Walker in this deal, but they are not really filling any gaps I thought they would need on the blueline.

Salary CapThis is a good rental for the Capitals, because Walker is a UFA at the end of the season and he does look to fit into the Caps cap system with only $544,000 left to his cap hit this season. The Capitals, if they are going to make another move, likely will have to move some cap space to do it, but we'll have to see.
