Another long-term contract was handed out in Toronto on Tuesday, signing Finnish forward, Niklas Hagman, to a 4-year deal worth $12 million. This comes on the heels of the Jeff Finger signing to a 4-year deal.Hagman had a very respectable year in Dallas, scoring 27 goals and adding 14 assists, finishing in the top 200 in pool scoring at 41 points. His goals and points were career highs, which may mean he is finally starting to understand his role in the game, which does bode well for Toronto. He is known as a good penalty killer, with shorthanded potential.
This deal now brings the Leafs totals up to 18 players at $43.9 million. This number doesn't include buy-outs.
