Stillman to Lead Panthers

The Florida Panthers made a splash in the free agent pool as well, by signing uber-rental player, Cory Stillman, to a 3-year deal worth $10.6 million. Stillman was ranked sixth in this morning's top 10 available unrestricted free agents and the Panthers were wise enough to pick him up.

Stillman finished the season with the Ottawa Senators after being dealt from the Hurricanes at the deadline. He had 65 points (24G, 41A) in 79 games between the two clubs, but couldn't help the team out of the first round of the playoffs.

The rebuilding Panthers picked up some quality leadership and some offensive talent with Stillman and will have a decent cap hit of $3.533 million over the next three years to have him. This brings their total up to 21 players @ $43.2 million.
