Blackhawks Land Campbell

The Chicago Blackhawks took another run at the free agent pool, only to make a bigger splash than the Huet deal earlier. The ninth-ranked unrestricted free agent, Brian Campbell, has signed a whopping 8-year deal worth $56.8 million. This jump not only made a splash, but you can say they hurt themselves on the way down, because this signing has now brought their active skaters list to 17 players and they have hit the ceiling for the salary cap of $56.7 million with six names yet to be placed in their line-up.

Moves will have to be made...

Anyways, the addition of Campbell puts the Blackhawks in great position with their best players heading into next season. Bonafide young superstars, great puck moving defensemen and a starting goalie (or two at the moment). Who gets cut from this team? It's hard to say.
