Ducks Finally Add Perry

The Anaheim Ducks finally put ink on the dotted line with restricted free agent-to-be, Corey Perry on Tuesday, signing him to a new 5-year deal that will be a cap hit of $5.325 million per season. That is the exact same deal teammate, Ryan Getzlaf, received in November.

The deal for Perry was the number one priority for the Ducks and they cleared just enough cap space to make that signing right away, but there could be some more tinkering before it's all said and done.

In 70 games for the Ducks during the season, Perry scored 29 goals and added 25 assists, to be second on the team in scoring and third in pool scoring behind Getzlaf and Giguere. Perry will be a staple of the Ducks organization and hockey pools for a long time.

Perry's signing now brings the returning total to 17 players @ 51.8 million. There is still a fair bit of signing to do, but only with $4.9 million left under the ceiling.
